One ok rock is a Japanese power pop/alt-rock band that draws on the sound of blink-182 and Foo Fighters. It was formed in 2005. The high school student Toru Yamashita wanted to start  a band and he told his friend Ryota Kohama to learn the bass and then asked another friend, Alex, to join them.  After seeing Taka, a vocalist, performing in a cover band Toru saw him as the best possible candidate for the vocalist of their band and insisted that he joined them. Tomoya was the last member to join them as the official drummer in 2007 since the
The name of the band comes from “one o´clock”, the time that the band used to practice on weekends.

In the beginning One ok rock had five members but now they are only four because Alex left the band after being arrested in April, 2009 for groping the leg of a twenty-one-year-old female student on a train.
